Glenn O’Farrell resigns as President and CEO of Groupe Média TFO

STATEMENT

Toronto, June 27th 2019. Glenn O’Farrell, President and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Média TFO has submitted his resignation and will leave his post on August 16, 2019.

“These almost nine years at Groupe Média TFO have been wonderful,” said Glenn O’Farrell. “I had the privilege of working with a fantastic team on the multi-layered task of restructuring, repositioning and rebranding the organization, supported by successive Boards of Directors. I now look forward to a new challenge as CEO of OLHI - OmbudService for Life and Health Insurance,” he added in a message to colleagues.

The Board of Directors of Groupe Média TFO expressed their gratitude to Glenn for his outstanding leadership of the organisation:

“During his tenure, Glenn and his team transformed a public television station in Ontario into a formidable multimedia digital enterprise with pan-Canadian and international reach,” said Carole Beaulieu, President of the Board of Groupe Média TFO.

“Glenn’s transformative leadership skills guided Groupe Média TFO to new technologies, new ways of doing things and new platforms to serve the mandate of this public media enterprise dedicated to support the Franco-Ontarian education system. Under his leadership, Groupe Média TFO launched a new content platform (IDÉLLO), produced hundreds of hours of co-productions and created marquis events which positioned Groupe MédiaTFO as a digital leader in Canada and elsewhere,” she added.

The Board of Directors has a succession plan process which will guide the hiring decisions for the interim President role as well as for the permanent leadership position, easing the transition. The new President will continue the work started by Glenn O’Farrell and will be tasked with implementing the organization’s strategic plan for 2019-2022.

“Thanks to Glenn’s leadership, Groupe Média TFO is very well equipped to meet the challenges of the future with confidence. Glenn leaves behind an innovative and ambitious organization. We are grateful to him for his important contribution to the French-language media landscape in Canada and wish him all the success in his new professional role,” said Beaulieu.
